As you can see my name has changed over on this website as well as my Facebook author page, quite exciting! Visually not much has changed, though there are a few little things that transitioned when the name did (kudos if you spotted them!)
An exciting new feature prospect that I am looking forward to sharing with you is Favourites Friday! On the first Friday of every month I intend to post recommendations for a particular genre. Worried that I haven’t read enough that might interest you? Fear not! Not only do I have a multitude of reading friends and family members, but they are also willing to share their top picks with me (and subsequently you). I look forward to starting off this showcase with the genre I find myself most asked for recommendations: Fantasy.
I’ve planned to keep my book reviews and news up to date on a regular basis, but sometimes life is hectic. There has been a lot going on in my personal life, across the spectrum between good and bad. Family members have passed away, and my husband and I have bought our first house.
Worry not, despite everything, I am still reading, writing, planning, plotting.
Expect to see some changes around here in the near future. I’ve decided that I’ll drop the nom de’plume and go by Amy S. Brown, quite different from the Lizzy March some might have come familiar with.
My grand total of the year appears to be 55 novels read. I feel as if this number should have been much higher, but in the end, so long as one is reading, that’s most important!
I have done all of the reviews for books I either missed in a massive update overhaul from the summer, and the three I’ve read this month, which means I can start the new year fresh!
Let me know if you’d like me to post about what book I’m reading before I start it, or a tentative list of books I might read. Starting in January I’m going to start a bit of a book club, where I’ll state on the 1st the book I’ll be reading for the month, and at the end of the month we can discuss! 🙂
As I have said previously, my premier book reading is going to be a bit exclusive, but it is indeed happening today, at noon! This book reading will be a small affair and I will likely get some pictures from the event, which I may share here at a later date.
My debut book reading has officially been set, and it is going to be rather exclusive, as the book has not yet been released. I will likely post a few pictures of the event, and I thank all of you who have shown your interest in Pas de Deux thus far. Once the book is out I would be more than willing to do more book readings, so if that’s something you’re interested in, feel free to contact me.
Speaking of people who have shown interest in Pas de Deux, I met a lovely family at a restaurant on Friday and ended up mentioning my novel. If you do end up getting a copy when it is available, and you’d like to get it signed, please contact me so we can set something up.
As of Monday the 5th I officially have my cover artist locked in! I’m quite excited for what I believe will be an amazing image. Please check out the amazing Terrazzo Creative Works. While he has done some amazing things in the past, I’ve asked Leo to look into a completely new style for this cover, which I hope you’ll enjoy.
I’m also looking at doing my first public book reading, which is quite exciting in and of itself. It will most likely be set for later this month, and there may be a chance of some participation giveaways. Once there are more details to share, I will most definitely let you know.
I completed my back log of books read on kindle without reviews posted, which means that I am free! Moreso, I am free enough to say that this update marks a transition from my old website book reviewing blog to my this page, which will now be linked on my Facebook page! A special thanks to all of those who have helped to create this website’s look and feel, and who have given feedback on the layout and appearance while it was still predominantly under construction.
The book I am currently reading, that I began on Monday, October 5, 2015, is the continuation of Stieg Larsson’s Millenium Series, The Girl in the Spider’s Web by David Lagercrantz. I look forward to sharing my views on this once completed, and so far find it to have a fairly good set up.
If you have any books you would like to recommend or would like to comment on this website itself, please feel free to leave a message below.
Some of you may be wondering why I continually fall behind on writing book reviews, especially if I am always reading. I wonder this myself. In this particular case, I wasn’t feeling the best and therefore became a stowaway with my kindle and a bag of cough drops. Perhaps I should begin posting short snippets of what I’ve read so that you know what reviews to look forward to. Let me know in the comments below if you like that idea.
No matter what: keep reading, keep dreaming, and always try to do what you love.
Not only have I been in talks with an amazing artist for the cover of Pas de Deux, and have a wonderful graphic artist set to design the cover, but I also have it confirmed that my top choice will be the voice of Matthias for the audio book!
And this is only the beginning!
